Parul Chaudhary, an Asian Games medallist, is gearing up for a significant year following her remarkable performance in 2023. Despite initially not wanting to compete in the 3000m steeplechase, she won her first medal in the event at the Junior Nationals in 2008, setting the stage for her athletic journey.

Breakthroughs in 2023

In 2023, Chaudhary achieved notable milestones, including setting a national record in the 5000m race and clocking her personal best in the 3000m steeplechase. Under the guidance of coach Scott Simmons in Colorado Springs, US, her training regimen focused on increased mileage and intensified runs, leading to improved endurance and better results.

Chaudhary secured her spot at the 2024 Paris Olympics by achieving a personal best and national record in the 3000m steeplechase at the World Athletics Championships in Budapest. Her training in the US played a crucial role in this success.

Triumph at Asian Games

At the Asian Games in Hongzhou, Chaudhary clinched gold in the women’s 5000m race, displaying determination and finishing with an impressive timing of 15:14.75. She also won silver in the 3000m steeplechase, gaining valuable insights into her global standing.
